This intricate 500-piece jigsaw is a satellite image composed of 43 Landsat MSS scenes for the land and two AVHRR images for the water.
The image is made up of pixels (picture elements) with each pixel representing an area of 200 square metres.
The image has been digitally processed to simulate natural colour, with cities showing up as grey, forests dark green, open land light green and the ocean depths and coastal shallows as shades of blue.
Assembled size 483 x 350mm (19 x 14 inches).
